I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded Home & DIY Retailer who are looking for a talented Head of Buying to join their Retail team to lead across multiple key categories including home, garden, DIY and tech. This is an office based role at their Wimbledon office. This role requires a strong commercial leader who can help drive category growth and business performance.

The main responsibilities as the Head of Buying will include:

  • Develop & execute the buying strategy in-line with the overall commercial development plans
  • Driving revenue and overall profitability
  • Leading and developing the buying teams
  • Management of budgets
  • Working seamlessly across the business, driving continuous process improvement and efficiency
  • Maintaining relationships with both internal & external partners to continuously improve, innovate and maximise both products and profitability.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience in a Head of Buying role, this is essential
  • Experience within relevant product categories Home or DIY is essential
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to harness profitability
  • Highly numerate with the ability to analyse information from various sources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Strong multi-tasker who can self-manage and use initiative.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the drive to succeed.
