This is an outstanding opportunity for a Commodity Buyer to work for an established food manufacturer who pride themselves on their innovation and their focus on sustainability. Based in Greater Manchester, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in their mission of producing exceptional food products.
About the role
An established and well-loved food manufacturer with a fantastic reputation for producing high quality products are keen to grow their purchasing function and have an opportunity for a strong strategic focused Buyer to join the team and take full responsibility for various categories across the business. Working closely with the Purchasing team in Manchester, you will have full ownership of a number of commodity categories within the business, as well as some packaging. You will build and maintain relationships with suppliers, co-ordinate supplier reviews, negotiate best margins and deliver on commercial targets whilst maintaining outstanding quality levels within the product ranges.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience in a food Buying/purchasing role within a fast-paced food manufacturing, processing or distribution environment. You will have proven experience in purchasing high volume goods including raw materials, ingredients, and packaging. You will be an effective negotiator with suppliers securing the best pricing, quality, and delivery schedules and continuously reviewing these to maintain competitive terms.
