About the Role: My client is looking for an experienced and commercially focused Senior Buyer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Buying Manager to develop and implement procurement strategies
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with new and existing suppliers
- Manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, cost, and service levels
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure the best value for the business
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and contractual obligations
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Manage inventory levels to balance availability with working capital objectives
- Produce sales reports, forecasts, and supplier performance metrics
About You:
You will be an experienced Buyer or Category Manager with excellent commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills.
Essential:
- Willingness to relocate for role
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Category Manager within a fast-paced retail environment
- Experience buying general merchandise essential, electricals or tech preferred
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
