Global Sourcing Buying Manager

Dusseldorf

My client is a hugely successful international retailer undergoing significant growth and transformation. They are looking for experienced Senior Buyers or Buying Managers to join the team to help manage this change and drive business growth.

This role requires experience in buying General Merchandise, including categories such as Homewares, Toys, Garden & DIY, Consumer Electricals, Stationery, Books, and Home Fragrance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to advance their buying career and collaborate with international buyers. As a Buying Manager, you will help secure exciting products at the best prices and drive the buying strategy to increase sales and profitability, maintaining a strategic focus for ongoing development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Liaising with the FE office
  • Negotiating with FE suppliers
  • Collaborating with national buyers
  • Negotiating contracts and terms
  • Analyzing sales data to plan future product lines
  • Conducting competitor and price analysis
  • Ensuring product quality through cross-functional collaboration
  • Managing and developing your team, leading by example

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Buying Manager in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience in buying general merchandise (excluding fashion or food)
  • Degree-level education
  • Strong attention to detail and workload management
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
