A leading FMCG Wholesaler and Distributor in Greater Manchester is seeking a Buyer to take ownership of the purchasing and supply of its Grocery ranges. The role will focus on sourcing and negotiating the most competitive cost prices with suppliers, with particular emphasis on products sourced through grey and parallel markets. This is a dynamic and evolving position, offering challenge and variety as the business continues to grow and diversify.
About the Role
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers across multiple grocery categories, developing and delivering profitable ranges.
- Define category strategy, build ranges, and oversee pricing and promotional activity.
- Identify and source new suppliers, products, and brands to bring to market.
- Strengthen existing supplier relationships, maximising terms and agreeing Joint Business Plans and Trading Terms.
- Lead promotional and marketing activity in collaboration with suppliers.
About You
- Background in Wholesale, Retail, or Foodservice Buying, with experience across FMCG categories such as Grocery, Confectionery, Drinks, or non-food (Health, Beauty, Household).
- Proven track record in negotiating savings, driving supplier engagement, and building sustainable supplier partnerships.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
