Our client, a distinguished leader in the design and distribution of high-specification technical products, is seeking a Compliance and Technical Manager to join their Leeds-based headquarters. Operating as a key subsidiary of a prominent global group, the organisation is at the forefront of delivering innovative consumer and industrial solutions to international markets.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical authority for New Product Development and legacy product integrity, ensuring that all equipment aligns with rigorous global regulatory frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide the technical oversight necessary to transition products from concept to market whilst maintaining total regulatory adherence.
- Lead technical compliance for a diverse product portfolio across EU, UK, NAFTA, and global territories.
- Maintain comprehensive technical files and ensure all products meet stringent specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with Product Management to facilitate benchmarking and user trials, ensuring "best-in-class" performance.
- Proactively monitor shifts in global legislation, implementing compliance programmes to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity.
- Oversee compliance testing budgets and manage relationships with external laboratories and global suppliers.
- Act as the organisation’s technical voice within external industry bodies and provide internal training on legislative developments.
- A blend of technical expertise and the leadership acumen required to manage complex projects.
- A degree in Engineering, Technical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technical or regulatory role. Prior experience within the Retail or Consumer Products sectors is essential. Experience with automotive products would be highly advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with a high proficiency in technical data management and MS Office.
- A genuine interest in technical consumer goods and automotive aftermarket solutions.
- A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel as required by the business.
