You love numbers. You thrive on putting all of the puzzle pieces together perfectly so you can seal the deal. Our Estimator will play a key role in keeping our multi-million projects on track. You will support the VP of Construction and the Construction Management team operations by preparing budgets and estimates for our multiple upcoming wood frame projects. You are a self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills. You possess strong analytical and technological skills and work with the highest standard of ethics.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Prepare estimates in multiple disciplines by completing material takeoffs such as lumber concrete contact SF, siding, roofing and rebar.
- Review proposed change orders and provide feedback to Construction managers.
- Assist construction managers with preparing budget estimates.
- Send out preliminary drawings to vendors for estimates and organize and evaluate as they come in.
- Assist with design review options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
- Review and write contractor scopes in conjunction with the construction drawings.
- Organize and track sets of drawings coming in for upcoming projects.
- Assist in evaluating construction rates, subcontract estimates, and proposals.
- Support the Construction Managers during the tendering process in all cost-related factors including bid price review, time, and material rates.
- Assist the VP of Construction with tasks including planning and executing new processes, training sessions, and technology implementation.
- Create and track list of material rates.
- Assist VP of Construction with planning for future projects by providing high-level estimates, drawing reviews, and overall planning.
- Be subject matter expert on Procore, Bluebeam, and Sharepoint.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years relevant work experience estimating.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Passion for construction and project management.
- A technical Diploma or relevant University Degree an asset.
- Recognized analytical and research skills.
- The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask, and prioritize.
- The ability to travel throughout the Lower Mainland with access to your own vehicle.
- Supervisory experience.
