The role: The postholder will lead the development and expansion of RISE’s training and consultancy offer, aligned with the Business Development growth plan. They will identify market opportunities and emerging sector needs to shape new products and services, and design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based training and consultancy services to clients across the commercial, public and voluntary sectors.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing and delivering professional training programmes, managing client relationships, and will be motivated by business development and selling training solutions.
Key responsibilities:- Strategic Development
- Lead the development and growth of RISE’s training and consultancy offer in alignment with the Business Development growth plan.
- Identify market opportunities and emerging sector needs to shape new training products and consultancy services.
- Adapt and expand existing training programmes to ensure they remain relevant and impactful, and aimed at different audiences.
- Develop scalable models for delivery to ensure services can grow beyond individual staff capacity.
- Research and apply organisational psychology theories and frameworks to the development of organisational culture, behaviour, leadership, and change products.
- Training & Consultancy Delivery & Development
- Design and deliver high-quality training and consultancy to a range of clients, across the commercial, public and voluntary sectors, using evidenced-based theories and approaches.
- Develop training materials, toolkits, manuals, and digital learning resources, including contributing to the development of digital solutions across all areas of RISE delivery.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and learning sessions both in person and online.
- Design and undertake needs assessments and workplace consultancy to help organisations identify challenges and needs, and adapt our offer to meet those needs.
- Deliver “Train the Trainer” sessions to enable wider delivery through associates and internal staff.
- Client Relationship Management
- Act as the lead contact for key training and consultancy clients.
- Build strong and sustainable relationships with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify opportunities for follow-on work, additional services, and long-term partnerships.
- Support proposal development and contribute to securing new training and consultancy opportunities.
- Associate Trainer Model
- Design and manage an associate trainer network to support scaling delivery.
- Recruit, onboard, and co-ordinate freelance trainers and internal sessional trainers.
- Provide support, guidance, and training to associate trainers to ensure consistent delivery quality.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all training and consultancy delivery meets high quality standards.
- Develop quality assurance processes including observation, feedback, and evaluation.
- Continuously review and improve training materials and delivery approaches based on learning and feedback.
- Implement feedback tools to capture feedback and testimonials from clients that will help improve and promote RISE’s training and consultancy offer.
- Project & Operational Management
- Provide oversight of training and consultancy projects once secured.
- Ensure delivery timelines, budgets, and outputs are met.
- Co-ordinate internal staff and associate trainers involved in delivery.
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues in the Training Hub to identify internal expertise that can contribute to training delivery.
- Ensure alignment between internal capability development and external training programmes.
- Share learning from training and consultancy activity to inform organisational practice.
- Business Development
- Support the promotion and growth of the training and consultancy offer.
- Contribute to proposals, tenders, and partnership opportunities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for training within the public sector and partner organisations.
- Actively contribute to securing repeat business and expanding RISE’s client base.
- Generate sales leads through outreach, networking, and attending relevant events and forums.
- Upselling and cross-selling to existing clients.
- Working to support the Business Development team to achieve annual Training & Consultancy targets.
