Rise & Fall is one of the UK’s fastest growing startups, reshaping how people buy better. We offer exceptional clothing and homewares, made by the world’s best manufacturers, at prices that are 40–80% lower than traditional luxury. We are the antithesis of fast fashion, committed to sustainability, quality, and conscious consumption. We’re a certified B Corp, use organic and natural materials wherever possible, and are proud to have donated over £30,000 last year to homelessness and women’s support charities. We’ve shipped over 250,000 products, doubled revenue last year, and are set to double again this year. We have been on a rocketship trajectory and are hugely ambitious, with recent launches in the US, Australia, Nordics and beyond. We’re on a mission to become one of the largest luxury goods retailers in the world in the next 10 years and significantly reshape the industry as we grow.
About the Role
We're looking for an E-Commerce Manager to help us grow past nine figures in annual turnover. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in variety, enjoys getting things done, and wants to own our Shopify platform. You’ll be the go‑to person ensuring our website looks great, runs smoothly, and delivers an exceptional customer experience. You’ll keep our Shopify platform in shape, catch bugs before customers do, and work alongside our eCommerce Lead to support our dev team, and help drive improvements across the product and customer journey.
What You’ll Do
- Ownership of the Shopify platform: Ensure product pages, landing pages, collections, and ad landing pages are always optimized for conversion, beautifully designed, and up‑to‑date with accurate copy, imagery, reviews, and metadata.
- Quality assurance & bug management: Proactively identify bugs and quality issues before customers report them. Manage the bug tracker, prioritize fixes using a clear framework, and ensure urgent issues affecting customers are picked up and actioned same‑day.
- Dev team coordination: Support our eComm lead in prioritization and execution. Understand the full end‑to‑end dev, QA, and release process, and be capable of covering for them when needed.
- Conversion optimisation: Contribute ideas on how to improve conversions through design, copy, UX, and product features. Help execute our CRO roadmap.
- Launch management: Support eComm Lead on product launches.
- Task switching: Move between strategic planning and hands‑on execution. One minute thinking about how to improve the site, the next updating product pages or analysing data. You’re comfortable with both.
Who You Are
- Background: You've likely got 2‑5 years of startup or consulting experience, but we’re open to other backgrounds. We’re looking for someone who can wear multiple hats and move quickly.
- A go‑getter: You don’t wait for permission or detailed briefs. You spot problems, take action, and keep momentum.
- Shopify experience: is a bonus but not a requirement.
- Someone who enjoys variety: You genuinely like switching between spreadsheets, and operational problem‑solving. You don’t need to specialise in one thing.
- Detail‑oriented yet pragmatic: You notice when something’s slightly off (design, copy, performance), but you also know when 'done' beats ‘perfect’.
- Product‑minded: You think about the full customer experience and conversion. You ask 'why?' and 'what if?' questions and have opinions about how things should work.
- Proactive: You catch issues before they become problems. You anticipate what’s needed and deliver without being asked.
- Clear communicator: You can explain technical things simply and keep both technical and non-technical people on the same page.
- Fashion or e‑commerce interest: (bonus) It’s helpful but not essential.
Why This Role
This role is exciting because you’ll be at the centre of our growth. It gives you genuine visibility across the team - you touch almost everyone in the business and have direct lines to the COO & cofounder (Will Coulton), Head of Growth (James Wynn‑Higgins), and eComm Lead (Molly Scoular‑Sutton, who you’ll report into). You’ll own our Shopify platform end‑to‑end, shape our customer experience, and have the autonomy to get things done - with lots of room to grow.
Training budget to spend on professional development. Generous discount on all Rise & Fall product + free product each season. Lovely, bright and spacious office near Portobello Road (with free snacks!). Holiday: 33 days.
