Fantastic opportunity to join a market‑leading and progressive company in the Electrical Industry as a Business Development Manager. The successful applicant will receive a good basic salary, company car and pension, along with participation in the target‑related Bonus scheme and significant health and life insurance benefits.
To be successful you will require sales experience in the industrial electrical marketplace with some technical ability and a product knowledge strength in some area, along with an ideal but not mandatory electrical qualification.
Role Summary
Working remotely from a home base to plan your own diary and customer visits within your defined territory, you will identify opportunities to promote and sell a full range of electrical, lighting, power distribution, factory automation and process automation solutions across a wide range of industries. The company has access to an extensive range of supplier product types and brands to satisfy most requirements. Reporting to your local Regional Sales Manager, you will identify opportunities for business and engage with decision makers to further develop relationships and business. You will benefit from an extensive customer database, marketing support, full technical support and ongoing product and technical training.
Location
We are seeking candidates located in Telford, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Worcester, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Cheltenham. Excellent candidates located anywhere with the territory will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities across a range of electrical solutions.
- Plan and execute customer visits and maintain a local territory diary.
- Engage with decision makers and build strong customer relationships.
- Collaborate with marketing, technical support and product teams.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and participate in the Bonus scheme.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Demonstrable sales career history and success.
- Strong time‑management, organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self‑motivation and a "can do" attitude.
- Commercial and technical ability in the electrical industry.
- Ideally industrial electrical/Control & Automation knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
- Customer‑focused.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligible to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
