The Role
As a technical sales engineer / field sales engineer, you are looking to achieve profitable business sales of the process automation range of products and the full product range into existing and new customers throughout the territory which includes Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Shropshire & Wales. You will be selling into a wide variety of customer types such as Panel Builders, System Integrators, OEM’s and End Users both directly and via a Partner Distribution Network, as you manage an established customer base and access information on potential customers for development. To assist your success in this you will receive comprehensive ongoing product training. You will be field based and working closely with the rest of the sales team and sales managers along with your distribution partners. We are seeking candidates located anywhere within the territory described, however central would be ideal, with good access to road networks, although an excellent candidate located anywhere within the territory would be considered.

The Candidate
For this technical field sales engineer position, prospective candidates MUST have the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • Be an excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, passionate about building lasting client relationships with Key Accounts.
  • Business to business (B2B) field sales experience as an Area Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Sales Development or Business Development Manager, within control & automation, process automation, process instrumentation products.
  • Candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and sales success, preferably including involvement within the oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, energy & utilities industries, achieving specification, preferred supplier and business win.
  • Ideally have an engineering qualification in a relevant subject such as ONC, HNC or Degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
