Are you a semi-skilled Fabricator/Welder? This could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a Grade 3 Fabricator/Welder at Caterpillar, you'll have the chance to collaborate with and contribute to a team of experienced Fabricator/Welders, enhancing your skills and building your career. In this role you will perform basic fabrication/welding tasks. This is your chance to work with a global leader and make a real impact.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Weld, fabricate, and tack components and sub-assemblies of generator sets.
  • Operate manual and automatic MIG welding machines.
  • Repair and rework production parts.
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Interprets prints, plan methods and sequence of work.
  • Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold Caterpillar’s Values in Action.
  • Any other appropriate duties.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication/Welding or minimum 12 months experience.
  • Able to understand and follow detailed verbal instructions and perform basic maths.
  • Ability to conduct the physical aspects of the position, including tasks performed at height.
  • Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to move materials.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and squares to ensure work accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Attention to detail to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work.
