We are seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Weld Technician to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the welding and fabrication of car bodies and sub-assemblies.

Shifts

  • Days: 6.30 am - 3.00pm (Mon - Thur) & 6.30 am - 12.00 (Friday)
  • Backs: 3.00 pm - 11.30pm Mon - Thur & 12.00 pm - 5.30pm (Friday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various welding and fabrication tasks, including coded welding, in accordance with WPS, SOPs, and associated documents.
  • Carry out pre- and post-weldinspections, ensuring full accountability forweldquality and correcting issues to the required standard.
  • Prepareweldsurfaces, controlweldequipment/consumables, and complete all necessaryweldrecords.
  • Support the team by designing and delivering training to colleagues, sharing knowledge, and deputizing for the Team Leader when required.
  • Lead problem-solving activities, minimize waste, and participate in Kaizen and 5S improvement activities.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment procedures, ensure correct extraction is used, and maintain high standards of housekeeping.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must hold a MIG or TIG coded qualification.
  • Proven ability to perform coded welding to relevant standards in TIG or MIG.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and make decisive, informed decisions.
  • High level of accuracy, excellent dexterity, and good eyesight.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including shift work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver high-standard training to colleagues.

Desirable Extras

  • Previous experience welding aluminium.
  • Lifting qualifications.
  • Train the Trainer qualification or relevant training experience.
