Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third‐party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world's top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About The Role

Rippling has a long history of serving global companies across industries, but our roots are really in serving the startup ecosystem. Rippling graduated from the Winter 2017 batch of Y‐Combinator, which is the famous Bay Area accelerator behind startups like Stripe, Airbnb, and Dropbox. The early days of building Rippling was focused on eliminating the administrative work founders have to do across payroll, HR, benefits, which we extended to IT and spend. We are returning to our roots in delivering this important message to founders in the US, but also in other important technology markets we operate in today including the United Kingdom (UK).

We are looking to hire a Startup Partnerships Manager, based out of the London office, that can be a hands‐on leader within the Startup Go‐to‐Market (GMT) team we have started in the US. This role will develop and execute large‐scale tech‐focused strategies, such as broad offers for the startup community to be coupled with sales, marketing, partnership, operations, and customer experience initiatives. On a day to day basis the work may include developing packages for venture‐backed companies, managing accelerator, VC, and growth equity partnerships, and assisting with execution of various sales and marketing tactics (e.g. direct email and mail campaigns, social ads, brand campaigns, field events and content).

The role has high levels of responsibility and is best suited for self‐starters with a breadth of experience, which may include startups, big tech, GTM, and investing, to back them up. There will be lots of room to grow, measure your impact, and scale with the organisation as we build our venture‐backed company motion in the UK.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee a portfolio of early‐stage go‐to‐market partnerships within the startup ecosystem. This will include local UK‐based venture capital partnerships as well as startup technology partnerships. There will be some coverage of European funds that span beyond the UK.
  • Work cross‐functionally with key internal stakeholders to ensure that every startup's experience on Rippling is delightful from pre‐sale engagement, to the sales process, followed by onboarding/implementation and long‐term support.
  • Build out and execute key programs that support the broader Rippling for Startups initiatives in relation to your coverage areas, but extend into other areas including UK/European startup technology partnerships.
  • Serve as a local point of escalation for startup partners and startups, to build a positive reputation for Rippling in the startup ecosystem. Maintain a partner and customer feedback loop to internal teams to ensure product, customer experience, and competitive positioning feedback makes it to the right stakeholders.
  • Collate coverage area insights and prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly updates detailing business progress, market trends, partnership updates, product, and customer experience feedback gathered from startups and partners.
  • Represent Rippling in the startup ecosystem as needed and showcase a depth of product knowledge that highlights the best of Rippling (requires a mix of technical depth, sales skills, and partnership strategy).
  • Own key metrics for your coverage areas and derive actionable insights into improving the experience for customers, improving operational performance, and ensuring cost efficiency and revenue maximisation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5 to 8+ years of proven, relevant experience managing startup ecosystem partners at a startup, multinational corporation, or venture capital/other investment firm.
  • Prior industry experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or in the investor ecosystem is a plus.
  • Experienced business background or technical founder background with a passion for helping startups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‐functionally with internal and external stakeholders to get new programming off the ground.
  • An ability to think creatively and thrive in a dynamic, but often ambiguous environment.
  • Self‐starter with excellent time management, project management, strategy, and some GTM skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience working with senior leadership.
  • Organised, attentive to detail, and intellectually curious.

If you don't necessarily meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply because skills can be used in lots of different ways, your life experience is equally important sometimes.
