Ripple is building the infrastructure that moves money globally. Our products power cross-border payments, institutional crypto liquidity, digital asset custody, and our enterprise-grade stablecoin (RLUSD). In this role, you will work on one of the most critical layers of that infrastructure, Bank Integrations. This platform sits at the boundary between Ripple and the global banking system and ensures that all data exchanged with external financial institutions is correct, reliable, and continuously available. This powers both real-time payment flows and downstream reconciliation.

You will be working on a production system that integrates with banking partners through a range of interfaces. These systems must operate reliably despite real-world constraints such as inconsistent data, delayed responses, and partial failures, while ensuring that high-integrity financial data is correctly distributed across internal systems. Your work will focus on scaling integrations while improving the system’s resilience, observability, and overall structure. You will play a key role in evolving the platform to support new banking partners, products, and regulatory requirements while addressing technical debt that impacts reliability and delivery speed.

We are looking for a software engineer who is motivated to understand complex financial flows and takes a pragmatic and focused approach to building systems that behave predictably in production. Your decisions will directly influence how money moves through the system.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve mission‑critical bank integrations that power Banking Connectivity and money movements at scale
  • Develop a deep, end‑to‑end understanding of payment and banking data flows across internal systems and external partner banks
  • Design and deliver testable, resilient, and observable systems that operate under real‑world banking constraints
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and external partners to unblock integrations and accelerate delivery
  • Improve system quality through pragmatic enhancements in observability, testing, and resilience. This is a high‑impact role.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience building and supporting reliable backend systems with external integrations (APIs, webhooks, polling, file‑based flows)
  • Strong Java experience, including concurrency, handling failure and edge cases (idempotency, deduplication, delivery guarantees)
  • Solid ability to reason about distributed / async flows and backend stacks (AWS, gRPC, RDS, AMQP or similar)
  • Self‑directed and strong ownership mindset
  • Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools while maintaining quality and safety

Take Control of Your Finances

  • Competitive salary, bonuses, and equity
  • Competitive benefits that cover physical and mental healthcare, retirement, family forming, and family support
  • Employee giving match

Take Care of Yourself

  • R&R days so you can rest and recharge
  • Generous wellness reimbursement and weekly onsite & virtual programming
  • Generous vacation policy – work with your manager to take time off when you need it
  • Industry‑leading parental leave policies. Family planning benefits.
  • Catered lunches, fully‑stocked kitchens with premium snacks/beverages, and plenty of fun events
