We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking a skilled PL/SQL Developer to join their dynamic IT team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial for the ongoing success and evolution of their core business systems.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the full software development lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on enhancing, maintaining, and upgrading existing critical applications built primarily on Oracle technologies. The Role:
As a PL/SQL Developer, you will be responsible for:
Developing software solutions using and integrating appropriate technologies on new developments, enhancements, improvements, and upgrades to existing systems.
Reviewing and maintaining current systems, presenting ideas for system improvements ? for development, coding, testing, and configuration that meets customer requirements.
Performing unit, integration, and sometimes manual testing of modules and applications.
Preparing necessary documentation, workflow diagrams, and user guides.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
3-5 years? work experience and demonstrable skills in SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports.
Experience in Unix/Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
Experience with the full development lifecycle i.e. requirements capture, analysis, design, test, documentation, maintenance, and configuration management.
Experience of using version and source control to protect, manage and share source code.
Good interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and alone, showing meticulous attention to detail.
Enthusiasm for constantly learning new skills, tools, and techniques.
A commitment to keeping up-to-date with appropriate software engineering processes and methodologies used in industry.
An understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.
An up-to-date understanding of Information Security practices, with the ability to attain and maintain competency in those as prescribed by internal policies.
