This agency works closely with charities, membership organisations, and ethical brands to build high-impact digital experiences. If you are looking for a role where your technical skills directly support meaningful, real-world causes, this is an excellent environment to grow in.
The Role
Sitting between the agency's dedicated WordPress and Laravel specialists, this role is designed to bring consistency and support across a wide range of projects. You will report directly to the Technical Director, contributing to everything from new custom builds and API integrations to ongoing platform maintenance and performance tuning. This is an ideal role for a developer who enjoys a varied workload, feels comfortable moving between CMS and bespoke application development, and wants to work across the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confidently contribute to both custom WordPress builds and bespoke Laravel applications, ensuring high quality across both codebases.
- Connect multiple systems together, working heavily with APIs, webhooks, and third-party platforms (Stripe, CRMs, and charity-specific tools).
- Partner with designers, UX specialists, and fellow developers to deliver robust, highly accessible digital products.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across application code, hosting environments, and deployment workflows.
What We Are Looking For:
We need a pragmatic, thoughtful developer who values clean, maintainable code and clear communication. You should have:
- Strong commercial experience with PHP.
- Solid experience building and maintaining Laravel applications (routing, Eloquent, queues, migrations).
- Solid experience building custom WordPress sites using Timber and ACF (Custom Fields/Post Types).
- A good understanding of modern front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- A passion for web performance, accessibility, and security.
Useful Additional Experience:
- Familiarity with lightweight frameworks (Livewire, Alpine, Vue).
- Experience with WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, or payment gateways.
- Exposure to Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, or automated deployment tooling.
- Previous experience working with non-profit or purpose-led clients.
The Benefits:
- Join a collaborative team building digital products that make a genuine difference.
- 100% remote working from anywhere in the UK.
- A structured 4-day working week on a full-time salary.
