Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons
• Adapt teaching to individual learning and additional needs
• Support pupils individually and in small groups
• Build trusted and consistent relationships with young people
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and engagement with education
• Use positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
• Work closely with support staff and other professionals
• Follow the setting and Ripple Education safeguarding procedures at all times

• Full employment and education history, including explanations for any gaps
• Suitable professional references

• Qualification and professional status checks, including relevant teacher status and prohibition checks

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with children or young people in an education setting
• A calm, consistent and compassionate approach
• The ability to establish positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• An understanding of safeguarding and the additional vulnerabilities some young people may experience
• The resilience and flexibility to adapt your approach to individual pupils

Experience within SEND, SEMH, Alternative Provision, PRU or specialist settings would be beneficial. We also welcome applications from experienced mainstream teachers whose skills, experience and approach may transfer well into specialist education.
