PPA Teacher (Part time) in Berwick-Upon-Tweed

Are you a qualified Primary Teacher looking for a part-time teaching position near Berwick-upon-Tweed? Ripple Education is currently recruiting a PPA Teacher for two days per week at a small village primary school in the Berwick area, with an immediate start.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher looking for a consistent part-time role without the demands of a full-time class teacher position. Planning is provided, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons, building positive relationships with pupils and becoming a valued part of the school community.

The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency for its children and become a reliable member of the team.

The opportunity

You’ll work two days per week, providing PPA cover across the school. Your responsibilities may include:

• Delivering lessons across different primary year groups
• Planning lessons where required
• Adapting teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils
• Creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment
• Providing continuity and consistency for children
• Managing the classroom confidently and positively
• Marking pupils’ work in line with the school’s marking policy
• Working closely with class teachers, teaching assistants and the wider school team
• Following school policies, procedures and expectations
• Following school and Ripple Education safeguarding procedures at all times

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within a primary school
• Confidence teaching across different primary year groups
• Strong classroom management skills
• High expectations for all pupils
• A flexible and adaptable approach
• A thorough understanding of safeguarding
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Availability to work two days per week on a long-term basis
