This is a key strategic role within the Corporate Affairs (Corporate Governance) directorate, acting as the central point of contact for business continuity and incident management. We have strong foundations in place; your focus will be on influencing and building professional relationships to embed great practice rather than redesigning processes. You will join the dots across teams to deliver a holistic view that connects incidents, corporate risks and business resilience, and you will contribute to high‑quality reporting for the Audit & Risk Committee and the Senior Management Team.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Embedding our organisationwide Business Continuity framework, completing Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and strengthening local recovery plans.
- Leading the Incident Management framework across all incident types, ensuring high‑quality investigations, learning from near‑misses and continuous improvement using root‑cause analysis.
- Providing strategic insight that links incident trends to corporate risks and organisational resilience, informing assurance and reports to ARC/SMT.
- Building trusted relationships and influencing at all levels to ensure joined‑up working across NHS Resolution and with external stakeholders.
- Managing and improving incident, continuity and disaster recovery registers/databases, turning metrics into meaningful decisions.
- Coaching colleagues and supporting a culture of learning and resilience.
What You'll Bring:
- Exceptional relationship‑building, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal), including clear, concise report writing.
- Proven experience of embedding Business Continuity and/or Incident Management systems within an organisation.
- Highly developed analytical reasoning and independent judgement, with the ability to connect incident insights to risk and assurance.
- Evidence of planning and organising complex activities and adjusting plans as service needs change; able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines.
- Experience of managing policy implementation, developing assurance frameworks and line‑management responsibilities.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and confidence managing incident/continuity data and dashboards.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) plus a relevant governance/risk qualification (e.g. IRM, BCI Diploma).
What We Offer In Return:
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for career growth and development.
- Collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Work in a progressive environment towards data‑driven strategies.
- A commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
- Access to the NHS Pension Scheme and a minimum of 27 days Annual Leave.
- Commitment to support individuals in having a work and life balance, offering flexible working arrangements.
