Food Department Technician Required for September 2026

37 hours per week / Term Time Only (44 weeks) Mon-Thurs 08.00-16.00 / Friday 08.00-15.30

This is a varied and hands‑on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing ingredients, equipment and teaching resources for practical lessons
  • Supporting teachers and students during practical food sessions
  • Maintaining food rooms, equipment, and storage areas to a high standard
  • Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and undertaking food shopping
  • Completing cleaning, laundry, and food hygiene routines
  • Supporting examination preparation and coursework administration
  • Monitoring equipment maintenance and reporting faults
  • Assisting with departmental displays, resources, and general administration
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Has excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  • Understands the importance of food hygiene, health and safety procedures
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Has good IT and administrative skills
  • Is flexible, practical and enjoys supporting young people in their learning

Previous experience in a food, catering, hospitality, education or technician role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and successful department and play an important role in helping students develop practical life skills and achieve their best.
