Ringway Infrastructure Services (RIS) are 2 years into a 12-year Term Service Contract (NEC 4) with Milton Keynes City Council to supply Maintenance and Response Services. The contract highway assets cover 1,526km of the local highways; encompassing 141km A-roads, 63km B-roads, 421km C-roads, 901km of Unclassified roads, 1,135km footways, 346km dedicated cycleways and over 1Mm2 of verges. In addition, there are 763 bridges and highway structures, 54,400 streetlights, 41 traffic signals, 72,000 drainage assets and 114,000 trees. Ringway undertake routine, reactive and cyclical highway maintenance on these assets, together with emergency response, winter and abnormal weather service operations. In addition, there are infrastructure planned and programmed major maintenance and capital improvement of Milton Keynes infrastructure, such as drainage improvement schemes, highway and junction improvements, public realm projects, safety and traffic management and the maintenance of highways electrical assets amongst others.
Your role as a Quantity Surveyor on Major Projects involves working closely with the Commercial Manager and Major Projects team to assist in the commercial and contractual management of the works area you are assigned to. You will:
- Manage subcontract accounts in a proactive and collaborative manner to ensure payment notifications are issued on time and agreement of final accounts in a timely manner.
- Use your understanding of method of measurement principles to ensure the accurate measurement of works from as-built information and site records.
- Price works and Compensation Events using first principles.
- Attend progress and commercial meetings with clients, supply chain partners, and RIS colleagues.
- Work closely with our operations team and external supply chain to ensure evidence can be provided to support valuations and resolve client queries.
- Have an awareness of the risks and opportunities that may present themselves over the course of the contract and work with the commercial team to manage these accordingly.
- Administer NEC 4 TSC contract with options A, C.
