Job Title: Highways Technician

Location: Gloucestershire

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects that benefit local communities.
  • Assist with planning, mobilisation, and supervision of works to improve roads and infrastructure.
  • Use digital tools, including GIS mapping software, to support project delivery.
  • Carry out site visits to conduct audits, resolve issues, order materials, and prepare documentation – no two days are the same!
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Learn about sustainable practices and innovative solutions in transport.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Knowledge or experience in surface dressing or carriageway patching.
  • A willingness to learn, problem-solve, and show initiative.
  • Basic understanding of highways or construction.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • NVQ-level accreditation (desirable).
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
