- Emptying public litter bins and replacing liners
- Operating hand‑push sweepers (subject to training)

- Respond to service requests and urgent cleansing issues as required
- Carry out all duties in accordance with health and safety guidelines, safe working procedures, and risk assessments
- Record and report issues such as fly‑tipping, graffiti, vandalism, broken glass, damage to street furniture, dead animals or overflowing bins via handheld devices or reporting forms
- Undertake basic vehicle banksman duties to assist fleet vehicle safe manoeuvres
- Interact with members of the public in a polite and helpful manner, acting as an ambassador for the local authority and service provider
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards the public and residents
- Participate in training, toolbox talks, and development activities to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Reporting of all near misses, hazards and incidents according to the company procedures
- Good level of physical fitness – able to walk for extended periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, bank holidays or night work where required
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for completing check sheets or using handheld devices
