Duties

  • Delivery of statutory safety inspections and asset condition inspections.
  • Utilising local knowledge and access to the network to assist the Local Network Teams in the collation of intelligence to support the Cat 2 works/ Cat 3 proposals and whole service intelligence for inclusion in the Annual Planned Works Programme and service planning process.

Person Specification

  • Display a culture of "Network Pride" by taking ownership of road network on daily inspection routes and managing issues before they become problems.
  • Focussed and detail oriented to achieve statutory safety inspection requirements.
  • Capability to identify and assess asset condition accurately in line with the Assess & Decide Policy on the statutory network.
  • Ability to translate Assess & Decide Policy parameters to defects on the ground.
  • Comfortable and proficient utilizing technology based equipment to expedite accurate information collection and transfer.
  • In-depth knowledge of highway maintenance and other local authority services.
  • Promote/observe Health and Safety standards – "lead by example".
