Job Role
Ringway is looking to appoint an experienced Supervisor to support the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement works across the strategic road network. This is a hands‑on supervisory role responsible for overseeing operational activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Supervise highways maintenance activities across the strategic road network.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with CDM regulations, company procedures and client requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor workforce, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Support the planning and delivery of traffic management operations.
- Oversee maintenance and repair works to vehicle restraint systems, drainage assets and structural expansion joints.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and quality checks.
- Complete and maintain accurate records, reports and operational documentation.
- Liaise with National Highways representatives, operational teams and other stakeholders.
- Ensure works are delivered efficiently, on programme and within budget.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example on site.
Person Specification
- Minimum of five years' experience within the highways sector.
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety legislation.
- Previous experience within traffic management, including current or previous Traffic Management Foreman qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the National Highways Area 6 and Area 8 strategic road networks.
- Experience maintaining and repairing vehicle restraint systems, drainage assets and structural expansion joints.
- Strong IT skills with experience using a variety of systems and software packages.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to work days, nights and occasional weekends to meet operational requirements.
Desirable Experience
- Supervisor qualifications relevant to highways maintenance operations.
- National Highways contract experience.
- NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- Experience managing subcontractors and operational teams within a live highways environment.
