About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Structures Engineer to lead the design and delivery of structure replacement, refurbishment and improvement projects across Essex. You will apply your expertise in DMRB, MCHW, Eurocodes and modern design standards to produce high-quality engineering solutions for complex highway structure schemes.
Working closely with the Team Leader, you will plan, coordinate and manage allocated schemes while providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers. The role requires strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare designs, plans and programmes for highway structure works and services
- Lead and oversee projects to ensure successful delivery
- Support the management and monitoring of works programmes
- Ensure all works are delivered safely and in line with CDM and Health & Safety policy
- Mentor junior staff and undertake technical checking of their work
About You
- Proven design experience using Eurocodes and DMRB
- Working knowledge of contract specifications and the MCHW
- Strong understanding of highway legislation, structures design standards and best practice
- Experience in budgetary governance and cost control
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
