We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design and implementation of structure replacement, refurbishment, and improvement projects across Essex. Leveraging expertise in Design, DMRB, MCHW, and Eurocodes, the successful candidate will deliver innovative and high-quality solutions to complex highway structure challenges.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leader and guide junior staff, drawing on your background in highway structures and a proven record of successful project delivery. Reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing assigned schemes. This role emphasizes teamwork, requiring strong collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to foster productive relationships and achieve shared goals.
The Role
- Preparation of design, plan, programme highway structures works and services
- Provide clear and effective project leadership
- Provide assistance in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services
- Plan and deliver work safely in accordance with CDM and Health and Safety policy
- Mentor junior staff and checking their work
About You
- Design Expertise with Eurocodes and modern standards, DMRB
- Working knowledge of preparation of contract specifications, use of MCHW
- Extensive knowledge and application of Highway Legislation, relevant structures design procedures, standards and good practice
- Knowledge and experience of budgetary governance, management and control measures
- Knowledge and application of Health and Safety legislation including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations
