To assist in the provision of care to service users and work as part of a team to achieve required standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients in carrying out self-care tasks including personal washing, dressing, eating, continence care and personal appearance.
- Providing duties in each client's room to ensure beds are made up and changed as appropriate; adequate disposal of incontinence products.
- Ensuring clients are provided with refreshments and light snacks as appropriate.
- Observing care planning needs for clients.
- Helping promote as much personal, physical independence and choice as possible.
- Upholding service users' rights and preserving dignity.
- Ensuring the delivery of care services meets the required standard as laid out at induction training, and set out by NISCC.
- Reporting immediately any illness, accident or incident to a client as per company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and demonstrating motivation, reliability and commitment to team working and the development of others.
- Experience in a care setting.
- NVQ 2 in Care or willingness to work towards.
Job Details:
- Salary: £12.77 to £13.50 per hour depending on shift type.
- Contract Type: Permanent.
- Weekly hours: 36.
- Worktime: 08:00 - 20:00 and 20:00 - 08:00, days to be confirmed.
- Location: Killyleagh, Co Down.
