RINA is looking for experienced Welding Inspectors to perform inspection activities on behalf of RINA for our esteemed clients in Scotland.

Requested:

  • Experienced Umbilical inspector to be demonstrated through CV including tube welding inspection, NDT Inspection (minimum level 2), Mechanical Testing Inspection, Pressure Testing, Load-out Activities, etc.
  • Mechanical Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering or graduate from high school in relevant branches) / certificates such as NDT, welding, coating, etc.
  • Experience as Mechanical Inspector (min. 3 years); Inspectors should have inspection experience at the vendor’s premises. Experience may cover daily inspections or short term/long term project inspections on behalf of clients or third party inspections.
  • Ability to prepare daily/weekly inspection reports.
  • Adequate level of English for reporting, understanding international standards/codes, and communicating with clients in case of need.
  • Being a freelancer inspector or part of inspectors agency/society, the inspector or the company should be able to invoice the service.

Job Description:

  • Component Manufacture – 2 16 1/2mm2/ 2 x10mm2 TSQGWB Electric Cables, Electric Cables Splices, Fillers and Oversheathing of Steel Tubes for all umbilicals.
  • Static Umbilical MW-1 Umbilical – Static Control Umbilical, including Bend Restrictors and Subsea Umbilical Termination Interface Flanges at each end for connection to UTAs – 1470m.
  • MW-2 Umbilical - Static Control Umbilical, including Bend Restrictors and Subsea Umbilical Termination Interface Flanges at each end for connection to UTAs – 4751m. Exact Lengths to be confirmed.
  • Ancillary Equipment Bend Restrictors 1st End/ 2nd End, Monitoring Kit, Repair Joint, Repair Kit.
  • Loadout Activities Attendance and Monitoring.

Location: Fife, Scotland

Please note, we can only consider residents in Scotland for this position.

Period: 10th June 2025 – 30th September 2026 (resident)

Contract: To Freelancer or to Inspector agencies, for ad hoc activities.
