RINA is looking for a motivated Junior Engineer with 2–5 years of industry experience to join its expanding Integrated Lifecycle Support Consulting team. This dynamic and multidisciplinary group brings together experts in Integrated Logistic Support, Product Support Engineering, and Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS), offering an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

As a Lifecycle Support Consultant, you will support complex Aerospace and Defence programmes, including MOD engagements focused on reliability and failure modelling, cost modelling, spares forecasting, and statistical analysis. Working within a specialist and well-established team, you will deliver end-to-end IPS initiatives and build experience across a broad range of projects on some of the most technically advanced military land, air, sea, and autonomous platforms. This role can be based out of our Chippenham, Southampton, Leatherhead, or Lincoln. RINA is a smart/hybrid working organisation, so living within commuter distance of the offices is not necessarily required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Engineering programmes to ensure support requirements are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
  • Perform detailed analytic studies under the direction of the IPS Manager to ensure that the support systems being developed meet or exceed the specified Reliability, Maintenance and Supportability requirements, recommending design changes as appropriate.
  • Design and implement IPS projects including: AR&M apportionment, Supportability Analysis (SA), Through Life Cost modelling, FMECAs, Fault Tree Analysis and Codification.
  • Development and manage all the Element Plans.
  • Support bids & proposals.
  • Provide reports on productivity and other performance indicators to the IPS Manager.
  • Conduct peer reviews of the IPS Capability Group’s outputs.
  • Assist the IPS Manager with augmenting the IPS capability to meet new and emerging market demands.
  • Develop innovation initiatives to support future growth.

Experience and qualifications required

  • At least two years’ post graduate commercial experience in an Engineering capacity, with a preferable focus on failure analysis, cost modelling or reliability modelling.
  • A level in Maths or a Science.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BEng or MEng), preferable Mechanical.
  • Sector experience in either Defence, Energy, Oil/Gas, Marine, Aviation or Transport would be an advantage.
  • Some Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (AR&M) analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of IPS defence standards (including Def Stan 00-600, DLF (JSP886), Def Stan 00-40 series) preferable, but not pre-requisite.
  • Working knowledge of design engineering methods and processes (systems engineering).
  • Due to sensitivity of the work RINA delivers, you will either have existing Security Clearance, or MUST be a British citizen, willing to undertake the vetting process.
