We are currently recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join our global technology team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established firm with a global presence and significant growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for infrastructure and cloud projects, owning delivery from planning through to implementation.
- Own and support SQL and database platforms, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability across production environments.
- Drive architectural decision‑making within the infrastructure team, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to best practices.
- Build, configure and maintain infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on‑premise environments.
- Support and optimise VMware‑based platforms, including compute, storage and associated services.
- Lead incident response for complex issues, acting as an escalation point and driving root‑cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (development, data) to deliver reliable and high‑performing platform services.
- Accurately track and update work in Jira and Tempo, ensuring visibility of progress, discovered work and blockers.
Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of supporting SQL environments and data platform infrastructure.
- Strong experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments (cloud and on‑premise).
- Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including core infrastructure services.
- In‑depth experience with VMware virtualization and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server and core services.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code.
- Proven experience leading technical projects and leading architectural decisions.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- AWS exposure.
- Databricks or data‑platform adjacent experience.
- Relevant certifications (Azure, VMware, Networking).
