Rikama Education are working with a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) School in Margate, who are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to start ASAP. The school has two sites, primary and secondary and the LSA for this post are required to work within the secondary school supporting students aged 11 – 16.
LSAs are crucial to ensuring that all students have access to education, regardless of potential barriers to learning. You may be asked to work 1:1 with a student, for whom you will be their “key worker”.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the student/s in their learning (supporting with reading and writing)
- Supporting the teacher with behaviour management
- Being a safe person for the student to trust and learn from
These are long-term positions, so you will be in a set location for an agreed period of time. For the right candidates, a temporary-to-permanent contract will be offered.
