Rikama Education Ltd. are currently working with an SEN School in Cranbrook who are looking to recruit a number of highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic full-time 1 to 1 Teaching Assistants for children with various levels of ability on the autistic spectrum (ASD). Some students are verbal and some are non-verbal and can also exhibit challenging behaviour. The learning levels of the children (aged between 5 and 19) are at lower levels and needs are more around numeracy, literacy and life skills as opposed to GCSE qualifications. Ideal candidates will be passionate about making a difference to children’s lives by enabling them to learn, thrive and achieve.
Responsibilities
- You will be working with autistic children on a 1:1 basis, supporting them during the school day and working with some qualified teachers to deliver teaching.
- In this post you are an aid to learning for individuals – taking them through numeracy and literacy at a basic level.
Qualifications
- Ideally candidates will have experience of working with children with special needs and have good communication skills both written and verbal.
