Rikama Education are working with a SEN school based in Broadstairs, who are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Practitioner. Salary is £32,000 per annum; working hours are 8:30 – 16:30, Monday – Friday, Term time only. This is a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.
The school caters for children and young people, aged 5‑19. Students have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and are mostly on the autistic spectrum. Many students also have communication difficulties such as mutism and selective mutism, and emotional, behavioural difficulties associated with their complex disabilities. They also have a range of medical needs, requiring additional support to reach their full potential.
This position is highly rewarding. While students are challenging, it is the ideal opportunity for someone ready to develop their educational support skills. The school and residential homes provide excellent facilities for support.
It is essential that you have previous experience supporting young people with additional needs. You must have a DBS registered on the update system or be willing to have a DBS completed for you. Ideally you will have PROACT‑SCIP training or equivalent, but full training and support will be provided.
