Rikama Education is seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant for a vibrant specialist school in Maidstone. This school offers a personalised, trauma-informed curriculum for students aged 11-16 with EHCPs for SEMH, often alongside ASC, ADHD, and attachment difficulties.
Focusing on fostering independence and holistic well-being, integrating positive mental health provisions like PSHE, ELSA, and Mindfulness.
The Role: You'll provide crucial 1:1 and small group support, assist with personalised learning, implement positive behaviour strategies, and help students develop emotional regulation. You'll work within a supportive, trauma-informed team to create a nurturing environment.
We're Looking For:
- Essential experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a school or specialist setting.
- Understanding of ASC, ADHD, and attachment difficulties.
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a trauma-informed setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding.
- Desirable: Relevant TA qualification.
