What you'll do
The team works closely with the leadership to define and track the execution of Viasat’s international government strategy, focusing on new growth opportunities' identification, competitive positioning, and go-to-market strategies for defence and government connectivity solutions. We analyse global trends, assess competitive landscapes, and develop actionable strategies that enable Viasat to remain competitive. Joining this team offers exposure to strategic decision-making, working on initiatives that shape Viasat’s future direction. The candidate will gain experience in market intelligence, competitive analysis, and strategic planning, while collaborating with senior leadership and influencing high-impact business outcomes. The candidate will leverage analytical skills to interpret market data, identify trends, and generate insights that inform strategy. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential for presenting recommendations to executives and collaborating across sales, product, and business intelligence teams.
The day-to-day
The candidate will spend time analysing market trends, competitor activities, and internal performance data to produce actionable insights. Key actions include preparing intelligence reports, analysing competitors' trends, building forecasting models, quantifying market opportunities, and collaborating with Sales, Product, and Business Intelligence teams to align priorities. The candidate will have to contribute to strategic planning sessions and respond to ad-hoc intelligence requests from senior leadership. This role combines research, data interpretation, and strategic thinking with high visibility and impact on business decisions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience in market research, strategy or competitive and market analysis (minimum 5 years).
- Solid understanding of market research methodologies and competitive analysis frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, BI, or similar).
- Strong ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data to produce actionable insights.
- Familiarity with Business analysis platforms.
