The Role

We’re seeking a User Researcher to join our Experience Design (XD) team, made up of Product Design, User Research, Content Design and Design Systems.

The focus of this role is on our Consumers – home hunters.

You’ll be responsible for developing a deep, shared understanding of our users and contributing to the development of the product strategy.

You will elevate ongoing research focused on the now, whilst future proofing and building insight on the future of Consumer experiences.

Collaborate closely with product teams during discovery, through to delivering great user experiences.

Report to the Lead Product Designer – Consumers, based in our Soho office 2 days a week, and 3 days remote.

Along with occasional travel to the Milton Keynes office and property Partner events, support the User Researcher (Partners) in conducting ethnographic studies with Partners alongside account managers.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Strategic & tactical research
  • Partner with the Lead Product Designer and Head of Product to lead research projects that shape product direction for the future, aligning with key objectives and uncovering insights for continuous improvement for the experiences.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points for the domain.
  • Act as the voice of our users, with strong connection to our business goals, ensuring that Consumer needs are represented throughout the product development process.
  • Balance business objectives with user-centred thinking, ensuring research supports product development for the work we’re doing now, next, and into the future.
  • Identifying and conducting product domain user research to address long-term research goals.
  • User Research Operations
  • Develop and maintain research frameworks to help product designers implement UX metrics, use shared personas, templates, testing methods, and recruitment guides.
  • Improve user recruitment processes, ensuring diverse and representative participation across different user segments.
  • Drive the evolution of our internal research repository and implement timely research into the design process.

Mentor product designers and others on research methodologies and contribute to team discussions on user needs and business priorities.

  • Enhance ways of working and knowledge sharing between other insight producing teams across the business, including Market Research, Data & Analytics, Customer Experience and Sales teams.
  • Triangulate research insights, leveraging data from other teams to drive more strategic decisions.
  • Attend industry events like Property Mark to build closer connections to estate agents and partners and involve the wider XD team.
  • Deliver and socialise insights through clear, actionable artifacts that guide user-focused strategies, making them accessible to a broader audience.
