Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Delivery
  • Design and produce clear, high-quality tracking specifications for product engineers to implement in the data layer.
  • Meticulously QA implemented data layer tracking to ensure adherence and data quality.
  • Set up efficient best practice tagging in Google Tag Manager to pass data into GA4 and marketing platforms.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Troubleshoot and debug tracking issues with a methodical and logical approach, making use of SQL in BigQuery to assist.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and product improvement.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
    • Work with data scientists, data engineers and analytics engineers to ensure tracking enables all downstream data initiatives.
    • Interpret tracking requests from the product team to ensure we’re collecting the data needed to answer their questions.
    • Collaborate with product analysts and the senior implementation specialist on delivery and new initiatives.
  • Platform Knowledge and Best Practice
    • Maintain a very strong and up-to-date understanding of key platforms (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Firebase).
    • Develop and maintain a strong, up-to-date understanding of the other platforms we support with Google Tag Manager (Hotjar, VWO, Comscore, Braze, Google Ads, Campaign Manager).
    • Help maintain and evolve best practices within the tracking and tagging space.

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Has strong experience with data layer tracking and using Google Tag Manager.
    • Has a solid understanding of Google Analytics, particularly in how it receives and processes data.
    • Can translate analytical and performance questions into a coherent and efficient tracking solution.
    • Thrives in a dynamic environment, readily adapting to changing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
    • Stays informed about industry advancements and emerging data technologies to drive continuous improvement.
