Finance Assistant – Group Reporting

Location: Milton Keynes office / Hybrid. Office days are Tuesday and Wednesday with the rest of the week working from home.

Department: Finance. Reporting to the Finance Manager – Group Reporting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Closing the books at month‑end, including posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Helping to produce and analyse the monthly Management Flash Accounts.
  • Coordinating the information from across finance and the business for the monthly Board Report and Management Report.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and reconciling and analysing balance sheet accounts.
  • Processing transactions in NetSuite.
  • Dealing with auditor queries and maintaining audit files.
  • Preparing financial information for business unit queries.
  • Assisting in the regulatory reporting to the FCA for two small subsidiaries.
  • Managing treasury and banking administration.
  • Reporting on processes and controls.
  • Looking for ways to continuously improve processes.

  • Team player with an open, honest and can‑do attitude, willing to ‘muck in’ to ensure team success.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
  • Can prioritise and deliver results to strict deadlines through a proactive approach.
  • Curious, with excellent problem‑solving and investigation skills, confident in asking questions and utilising colleagues’ experience.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, always looking to improve current ways of working.
  • Willing to adapt to constantly changing needs of the team and business.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and any accounting systems.

We would love someone to have any of the following:

  • Experience in a finance team, with an understanding of month‑end processes and reporting.
  • Specific experience in posting journals, accruals, prepayments and bank reconciling.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with the finance system NetSuite.
