- Developer Experience: Improve build, CI/CD and local developer workflows, focusing on reliability, feedback speed and ease of contributing.
- Performance and Reliability: Set expectations for performance, startup time, memory usage and crash-free rates, and lead initiatives to meet them.
- Coaching and Mentorship: Support Senior and Mid-level Android engineers through technical guidance, career development conversations and involvement in hiring and progression frameworks.
- Community Leadership: Represent Android within the wider Native Apps and Engineering communities, sharing best practices, running guilds or forums and contributing to broader technical direction.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with Product, Design, QA, Data and Backend, and is skilled at facilitation and alignment.
- Operational Excellence: Experienced in observability, incident response, SLOs and continuous improvement of reliability and performance.
- People Leadership: Enjoys growing others, influencing hiring standards and helping shape an inclusive, high performing engineering culture.
- Communication: Can clearly articulate complex issues and proposals to a variety of audiences, from engineers to senior stakeholders.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in multi-module, multi-app or white-label Android architectures.
- Prior involvement in setting technical career frameworks or promotion criteria.
- Public engagement in the Android ecosystem through talks, writing or open source.
