Contract: Fixed‑term until 31st August 2027 (subject to funding extensions)
Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 hours) – Monday to Friday
Salary: Grade 2 – £40,736 – £44,056 (5% employer pension contribution, Medicash and group life assurance, 27 days annual leave per annum for FTE plus bank holidays)
Location: Birmingham Office (with flexibility to work from home, subject to business requirements and line manager approval). Regular travel to programmes in the West Midlands region and occasional travel to other areas.
Role Summary
The Programme Manager is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day delivery of the Discovery programme for local communities, working closely with public, education and third‑sector agencies to build a detailed picture of the assets and challenges, oversee planning, delivery and review of consultations, co‑design solutions and develop collaboration to meet the needs of children and families at risk.
Key Objectives
- Support the identification of key stakeholders and develop relationships of trust and influence to further the programme's aims.
- Identify strengths and development areas within local provision for children and young people, focusing on early identification of need and effective intervention.
- Facilitate discussions and a collective impact approach between service providers, education providers and local agencies to co‑design solutions.
- Coordinate engagement of residents and young people, building on relationships and knowledge of local organisations.
- Support the identification of training and development needs in relation to the programme and liaise with partners to build capacity.
- Coordinate and contribute to the creation of a Discovery report summarising findings and collective action.
- Support the creation of a detailed programme delivery plan co‑designed with stakeholders.
- Help local partners reflect on learning and spread it across agencies and the wider project.
- Provide line‑manager support to a Programme Officer when required.
Travel
Significant local travel between schools and other agencies across Sandwell, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Birmingham; occasional travel to Right to Succeed’s offices. Access to a car or reliable transport is essential.
