We are looking for someone suitable for the role below: Scope of QA intake role • To identify that all produce entering company premises meets the required specification • Effectively communicate LOT status and quality findings to Cell leads and the wider business. • Inspect FG products within the Warehouse following request of the wider business or following a Customer Rejection/Warning. Be able to make a judgment on the stock meeting specification, processing a predeparture return if stock needs reselection. • Comply with all procedures and systems, meeting all legal, Company and customer requirements. Main QA Intake Duties • Carry out quality checks on all incoming produce as per the agreed procedure within your Cell. Other products must also be checked as required. • Inspect stock on arrival and complete an intake report resulting in giving the stock a Green, Amber or Red status. • Effectively communicate stock arrival issues with your Cell and to the wider business. • Initiate follow up actions based on arrival status. For example: Blast chilling, decanting and placing product on hold • Checks will include and are not limited to: Quality, Packaging, Transport, printed information and stock information. • Reports must be completed clearly, concisely and with integrity. • Ensure timely report completion, communicating clearly to the Cell and wider business when delays are encountered. • Prioritise quality reports based on Cell need and management requirement. • Complete in-depth inspections as requested. • Provide a first point of an expertise to other colleagues within the intake team as per an assigned ‘’Cell’’. • Complete Dry Matter Testing and Ripening Cage Reports (Fruit cell only). Warehouse Duties: • Complete appropriate checks on picked product that does not enter the packhouse. This can include but is not limited to discounter lines, products from Top Barn Produce and catering customers. • React and respond to any rejections informing the cell and wider business of actions and corrective actions. • Actively identify, communicate and follow up on issues and concerns. • Work in alignment to Cell KPIs • Complete compliance checks including: * o blast chillers & room temperatures when required. o allergen checks o QA equipment on the start of the shifts and make sure that the equipment is signed in/off correctly • Collection, checking and filling of production records All team members are part of the wider quality team and may be required to cover the role of the Packhouse Quality Compliance Officer on an ad hoc basis. General Duties of QA intake inspector role • Complete day to day administration duties. Including but not limited to: record keeping, enforcing a ‘tidy as you go’ process, attending, participating and clearly communicating in relevant daily meetings. • Ad Hoc requests from technical/commercial distributed by QA managers. • Complete shift handover notes and shift KPI / PH issues clearly and accurately. Personal Requirements of QA intake role: • The ideal candidate will be well-organized and a proactive team player, who will have excellent attention to detail and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to liaise with other departments professionally at all times. • Have the confidence to challenge people and stop products with issues entering/leaving the building, and work with other departments to expedite corrective action. • Carry out all tasks assigned by the QA Manager/Technical Manager and Senior QA in a professional manner and be a strong decision maker. • Be forward thinking in identifying areas of concern or improvement and act on them. • Work to an agreed shift pattern including nights where applicable. • Dress in attire prepared for cold conditions and wear regulation PPE
