I am delighted to be working with our fantastic client who are looking to take on a Trainee IT Product Support Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare equipment and software for rental/sale. PC Hardware and peripherals, and where applicable, the software provided with them shall be tested in accordance with company test procedures and general workmanship standards employed by the company’s engineers. Documented records shall be kept to allow traceability and efficient flow of company processes.
  • Product Testing. Where required, the role involves assisting the software development team in the test and evaluation of new applications, bug fixes or interfaces.
  • Provide customer support and training. As the trainee gains the necessary skills and knowledge they will start to provide customer support by phone and email and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota. At a later stage they will also be expected to assist with customer training.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Manuals and User Guides. User manuals and product/interface guides shall require continual review and updating and this role may involve writing instructions and specifications for these documents.
  • Use of third party software systems for tracking of Goods-In and Goods-Out. The role requires a working knowledge of the company’s stock control and order processing software in the context of preparation and dispatch of goods as well as the control of materials received for stock or repair.
  • Provide assistance with mobilisations and vessel visits. FET provides both software and hardware to its offshore clients. Many clients request the presence of VisualSoft “experts” to assist them with mobilising these software and/or hardware systems on-board their vessels.
