My client, a leading provider of IT Services in the Aberdeen area, are looking to take on a Network Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This role will see you engaging with clients, and troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading their networks. This will involve heading to client sites, fault finding, and replacing routers, switches and any other equipment that may need replaced.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Working in unison with other members of the team where required
  • Documentation of Project works, with technical handover for on-going support and management
  • Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for all issues using the technical resources, management and monitoring tools available.
  • Ensuring that all processes are adhered to and all issues are owned through to resolution
  • Participating on on-call rota

To be considered, you should have at least 2 years experience in a networking role, or strong networking experience in a more broad scale IT Role. You should have good knowledge of Cisco Meraki systems, the ability to troubleshoot networks and engage with clients. Having your CCNA certification is also highly advantageous, and you must have a full clean drivers license as well as access to your own car.

Your Experience Should Include:

  • Excellent organisational skills and structured method of working
  • Excellent telephone manner and communications skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of working with Meraki technologies
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of working with Cisco Networking technologies
  • Familiarity with basic networking protocols - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, SIP, VPN
  • Familiarity with connectivity technologies - internal and external, wired and wireless
  • Familiarity with data security mechanisms such as IPS, AMP and encryption
  • Cisco Certified CCNA minimum required
  • Meraki Certified Network Associate or other desirable
  • Full Driving License and access to personal vehicle for transport essential
