The Finance Manager supports the Finance Director in overseeing the finance function and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. This role is focused on compliance, regulatory requirements, and providing support to the wider finance team, ensuring strong financial governance and effective operational delivery. The role works closely with the Finance Director and senior management to provide financial insights, while supporting the delivery of all reporting, budgeting, audit and statutory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities (Accountabilities)
- Financial Reporting & Control
- Support with the month-end close process in line with internal reporting timelines
- Support with preparation and reviewing key financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and cash flow
- Oversee VAT reporting, including compliance with French VAT requirements
- Support banking and payment processes, including currency trading
- Co-ordinate and manage Annual Insurance renewals
- Manage cash flow, including currency trading and weekly funding requirements
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the budgeting process and collaborate with departments across the business
- Support the preparation of forecasts (weekly and monthly) and provide financial insights to support strategic planning
- Support variance analysis and provide performance commentary to senior management
- Compliance & Audit
- Oversee statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure accurate, timely submissions
- Liaise with external stakeholders in relation to Annual Tax Computation
- Ensure compliance with ONS monthly and annual reporting, WAP/SAGE/ERS systems, and Group audit requirements
- Prepare and manage government statistical reporting obligations in both the UK and overseas, including ONS submissions and equivalent reporting process
- Team & Process Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support the finance team, ensuring high standards and continuous development
- Promote improvements in processes, controls, and reporting capabilities across the function
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance cross-functional financial understanding
