Are you an ambitious accountant looking for something a little different from the traditional finance role? We're working with a growing international business that partners with ambitious companies across sub-Saharan Africa, helping them strengthen their finance functions, improve reporting and make better commercial decisions.

This is a varied, hands-on client-facing role combining management accounting, forecasting, financial modelling, systems and commercial finance, alongside the opportunity to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across a portfolio of growing businesses. You'll be joining an agile and entrepreneurial team, with plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to shape your role around your strengths over time.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with senior management and finance teams across a portfolio of international businesses
  • Producing and improving management information, budgets and forecasts
  • Building and maintaining financial models across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Supporting businesses with accounting issues and more complex transactions
  • Providing commercial insight to support investment and growth decisions
  • Improving finance processes, reporting structures and the quality of financial data
  • Setting up and optimising systems including Xero and QuickBooks
  • Producing clear, insightful reporting using Power BI
  • Building trusted relationships and acting as a key finance contact for the businesses you support

What we're looking for:

  • A part-qualified or qualified accountant who enjoys getting underneath the numbers and working closely with people.
  • A strong grounding in management accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience producing budgets, forecasts and management information
  • Good commercial awareness and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders
  • Experience working internationally, ideally within the Global South
  • An interest in working across different businesses, sectors and commercial challenges
  • The flexibility to travel multiple times a year to sub-Saharan Africa and/or the US
  • Previous experience within practice or outsourced accounting could be useful, but isn't essential.

Why consider it?

This isn't a traditional accounting role. You'll get exposure to businesses operating across diverse international supply chains, working on everything from improving the fundamentals of their finance functions through to forecasting, investment decisions and growth planning. The role is fully remote, with international travel multiple times a year and the opportunity to become part of a growing business where you'll have genuine influence over how the role develops.
