Interim Financial Accountant (3-6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - Office Based with 2 days working from home)
The Opportunity
Right Pear is working with a fast-growing, multi-entity business looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant on a 3-6 month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team during a key period, taking ownership of financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit preparation while supporting ongoing process improvements.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in ensuring robust financial control across multiple entities while working closely with senior stakeholders and external auditors.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple legal entities.
- Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls.
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting corporation tax requirements.
- Managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Supporting cashflow forecasting and payroll preparation.
- Leading the year-end audit process and responding to audit queries.
- Preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 and Companies House requirements.
- Driving improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting.
- Supporting finance systems enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Significant experience in financial accounting, audit or financial control.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
- Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and month-end reporting experience.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems (Sage 200 experience advantageous).
- The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and hit tight deadlines.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.
