Interim Financial Accountant (3-6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Salary: £60,000 per annum

Contract: 3-6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - Office Based with 2 days working from home)

The Opportunity

Right Pear is working with a fast-growing, multi-entity business looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant on a 3-6 month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team during a key period, taking ownership of financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit preparation while supporting ongoing process improvements.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in ensuring robust financial control across multiple entities while working closely with senior stakeholders and external auditors.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple legal entities.
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls.
  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting corporation tax requirements.
  • Managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Supporting cashflow forecasting and payroll preparation.
  • Leading the year-end audit process and responding to audit queries.
  • Preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 and Companies House requirements.
  • Driving improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • Supporting finance systems enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Significant experience in financial accounting, audit or financial control.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS102.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
  • Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and month-end reporting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems (Sage 200 experience advantageous).
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and hit tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.
