Right Now Group is recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to support the day-to-day management of a busy cargo warehouse operation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of air cargo while leading and developing a high-performing warehouse team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with aviation security, health and safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Team Leader:
- Lead and support the daily operation of the cargo warehouse, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily safety audits and complete investigations into incidents, near misses, and safety concerns as required.
- Analyse operational data and develop plans to improve warehouse accuracy, productivity, and overall performance.
- Maintain warehouse administration processes, stock accuracy, inventory controls, and order fulfilment activities.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate warehouse staff, promoting a positive and productive team culture.
- Monitor individual and team performance against operational KPIs and company standards.
- Oversee cargo receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch activities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry regulations.
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and that accurate training records are maintained.
- Carry out quality checks and audits to ensure operational standards are consistently met.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Aviation Security procedures.
- Build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across multiple sites and departments.
- Provide regular operational updates and performance feedback to management.
- Promote a proactive, customer-focused, and 'can-do' approach throughout the team.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure correct waste management and recycling procedures are followed.
- Take ownership of designated process areas and drive continuous improvement projects.
- Support management with additional operational duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.
Location: Hayes
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off
Hours: 07:00 to 19:00
Key skills & Attributes Warehouse Team Leader:
- Previous experience within an Airfreight or Cargo Warehouse environment.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Warehouse Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of aviation security regulations and cargo handling procedures.
- Excellent people management, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Experience monitoring operational KPIs and driving performance improvements.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Clear DBS check.
- Full 5-year checkable employment history.
