Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy operation with a leading global freight forwarder based at East Midlands Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for ongoing part-time evening work, combining hands-on warehouse duties with administrative responsibilities within a busy air cargo environment. The role will involve handling and preparing freight for export, scanning shipments, completing paperwork and manifests, and communicating with internal teams to ensure the smooth movement of cargo through the operation.

Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Operative:

  • Working efficiently within a fast-paced warehouse and cargo environment
  • Loading and unloading parcels onto conveyor belts and vehicles
  • Scanning parcels using handheld scanners
  • Preparing and handling freight ready for export
  • Completing and checking manifests, paperwork and other relevant documentation
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring information is entered correctly
  • Communicating with internal teams and providing updates on shipments
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures
  • Supporting the wider warehouse operation as required

Working Hours

  • Monday: 19:30 - 23:30
  • Tuesday: 19:30 - 23:30
  • Wednesday: 19:30 - 23:30
  • Thursday: 19:30 - 23:30
  • Friday: 19:30 - 00:30

Hourly Rate: £15.05 - £15.95 per hour, based on length of service

Skills Requirements of a Warehouse Operative:

  • Have previous warehouse and/or administration experience
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Be comfortable working with paperwork, manifests and computer-based systems
  • Be confident communicating with internal teams
  • Be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Possess safety/steel toe-capped boots
  • Have a valid DBS dated within the last 26 weeks
  • Be able to successfully complete a full 5-year background check

Security Checks

Due to the nature of the role and the air cargo environment, successful candidates will be required to complete the necessary 5-year background referencing and security checks. Please note: This is not an immediate-start position, as the required 5-year referencing must be completed before you can commence work. The cost of the DBS check and CO training will be payable in advance.
